British rock star sentenced for sexually assaulting an 11-month-old baby dies in prison

According to South Korean media reports on October 12th, British rock star Ian Watkins, who was sentenced for a series of appalling crimes such as sexually assaulting an 11-month-old baby, recently ushered in his bloody end in prison-he died of massive bleeding due to being attacked by other prisoners. This news quickly detonated international public opinion, and brought this long-ruined name back to the public eye in the most tragic way.

According to the British "Sun" reported on October 11th, the bloody case happened in Wakefield Prison in West Yorkshire, which is known as the "Monster Building". After Watkins was beaten by other prisoners in the cell, the jugular vein in his neck was severed and he lost consciousness on the spot. Although the police and medical staff were dispatched urgently, they failed to save his life in the end, and the cause of death was judged to be excessive blood loss. Local police then arrested two male suspects, aged 25 and 43, and launched an investigation on suspicion of murder, one of whom is believed to have used the murder weapon.

Looking closely at Watkins' prison life, this deadly attack was no accident. Back in 2023, he was beaten and attacked with a murder weapon by three inmates inside the same prison, suffering a neck injury and narrowly saving his life. Unexpectedly, a year later, he still couldn't escape this disaster.

And the root of all this goes back to the trial that shocked the world in 2013. Watkins was sentenced to 35 years in prison for a series of "shocking depravity". The list of crimes is heinous: sexual assault of an 11-month-old baby, rape of a child under the age of 13, conspiracy to rape a child, multiple crimes of sexual assault related to children, and production and possession of child obscene materials, even possession of extremely obscene materials involving animals. What makes the public even more angry is that on the second day after the release of Weapons, the last album of his band "Lostprophets", he actually personally filmed the scene of sexual acts against children. His behavior was so bad that even the court denounced it as "depravity" and severely sentenced accordingly.

Watkins was a famous figure in the English orchestra at the beginning of the millennium as the lead singer of the band “Lostprophets”. However, after the band’s crimes were revealed in 2012, the band dissolved instantly, and a generation of stars became a prisoner of the people’s speech. This time he died in the Wakefield prison for repeated and sexual offenders, one of the highest security levels in the UK, and the police are still investigating his exact death pass and the motive of the crime.

This bloody case in prison is not only the end of what a criminal deserves, but also once again opens the file full of darkness and trauma. When the law finished the trial, the "lynching" in the prison came to an end in the most primitive way, and the tragic color in it was suffocating.
