According to AFP, a statement released by the Pakistani security forces to the media said that after days of escalating tensions, Afghanistan launched "unreasonable" attacks on Pakistani positions on the Pakistani-Afghan border on the night of 11 October.

According to the Pakistani side, the purpose of the attack was to force armed groups suspected of the “Havaliji” (rebels of the Pakistani Taliban movement) into Pakistan’s territory.

According to Islamabad, Pakistan troops responded quickly and forcefully, killing dozens of people.

The attack, which was launched by Afghanistan, occurred during the visit of Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutaki to India.

In a statement to the media, Pakistan Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi called the Afghan army's practices "a flagrant violation of international law," adding that "their methods are exactly the same as our country's old enemy (India)."

Mohsin Nakwe said: “Afghanistan will get an appropriate response, just like India, so that it won’t dare to be malicious to Pakistan.”

According to reports, in Afghanistan, the escalation of the conflict is considered a direct retaliation for a series of air strikes launched by Pakistan on the 10th. According to the Afghan side, the retaliatory action launched by the Afghan armed forces against Pakistan's border areas "ended around midnight". (Compiled by Su Jiawei)
