Cambodian police smashed electronic fraud dens and arrested 80 people, 57 of whom were Chinese

At about 4 p.m. on October 11, Phnom Penh police successfully destroyed an online fraud site on the 34th floor of Morgan Tower and arrested 80 people involved in the case.



Among the arrested are 57 Chinese, 9 Burmese, 5 Malaysians, 2 Nepalians, 2 Vietnamese and 5 Cambodians (including 15 women) from 7 countries and regions.



Earlier, the police received a report that in an office on the 34th floor of Morgan Building, there was a suspected illegal activity of online fraud. After investigation, the police launched action.


When police arrived at the scene, law enforcement officials found several people using computer equipment for suspicious work.


During the operation, the police also seized a large number of electronic devices used for the crime, including 204 monitors, 128 consoles and 3 laptops.



At present, Duigu District Police is conducting further investigation with the Technical Crime Combating Bureau of the National Police General Administration to confirm the relevant suspects and behind-the-scenes organizations, and pursue criminal responsibility according to law.
