Heavy rains in Mexico have killed 41 people

On October 11, the National Civil Defense Coordination Bureau of Mexico released the latest statistics, the country's central and eastern regions in the past week of heavy rains have caused at least 41 people to die, and at least 27 others are missing.

Data showed that 15 people died in Veracruz, Mexico, 16 people died in Hidalgo, 9 people died in Puebla, and 1 person died in Queretaro. More than 100 towns were affected. Veracruz was the most severely affected. About 16,000 houses were damaged, traffic in 42 communities was blocked, 25 communication lines were affected, and 51 landslides occurred.

At present, the Mexican Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Navy, the communications department and governments at all levels have invested in disaster prevention and relief work, set up temporary shelters, carried out rescue and medical care, distributed materials to the people, and restored basic services such as electricity and transportation.

Mexican President Simbaum said on social media on the evening of the 11th that he would continue to coordinate with the governors and various departments of the affected areas to respond to emergencies.
