Sri Lankan Prime Minister Amalasurya to attend Global Women's Summit

At noon today, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Amarasuria arrived in Beijing by plane, where she will attend the Global Women's Summit.

In 1995, Sri Lanka participated in and witnessed the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and the Action Plan as one of the participating countries of the Beijing Women’s Congress. Prime Minister Amara Suriya said that many of the ideas and goals set by the Beijing World Women’s Congress 30 years ago still shine the values of the time.

China and Sri Lanka have a traditional friendship, and the exchanges between Chinese and Sri Lanka women are an important part of the friendship between the two peoples. Relying on the framework of the "the belt and road initiative" initiative, China provides educational resources and financial support for co-construction countries, and provides material assistance to women and children in Sri Lanka and other developing countries through the "small but beautiful" public welfare project to help the development of local women and children's undertakings.

(President of the Republic of China Liu Feng Song)
