Iraqi Foreign Minister: Iran will never join the Abraham Accords

Iranian Foreign Minister Al-Araqi said in a television interview that night that Iran would never join the Abrahams agreement.

Al-Aragzi said the Abrahamic Agreement promotes the normalization of relations with a regime that has committed crime and genocide, and Iran’s position is very clear, “This plan is in no way in line with our ideals, and Iran will never join such an agreement.”

During his first presidential term, Trump brokered the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, Morocco and other Arab countries to sign the so-called "Abraham Agreement" with Israel, rapidly promoting the normalization of relations, but promoted the establishment of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia, a regional power, and Israel. It is difficult. After the outbreak of this round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October 2023, Saudi Arabia suspended negotiations on normalizing Saudi-Israeli relations.

"We will not re-negotiate the Iranian nuclear issue with the three Anglo-German countries at the moment."

Aragzi also said in an exclusive interview that Iran currently has no reason or plan to restart negotiations with Britain, France and Germany on the Iranian nuclear issue. He said: "We have talked and signed agreements, but the United States unilaterally withdrew, and the three European countries have failed to fulfill their commitments... Now they claim to want to renegotiate, but we really don't understand why we need to talk to them. What can they do, and what is the positive significance of such negotiations?"

Al-Araqi pointed out that the concept of the so-called "comprehensive agreement" proposed by Western countries seems meaningless to Iran, saying: "The so-called "comprehensive agreement" is neither clear nor lacking in basis. If new negotiations arise in the future, it will only take place as in the past around Iran's peaceful nuclear program."

Alagzi also said the so-called "E3" mechanism no longer has any meaning for Iran. Iran will deal with European countries separately based on its own interests. At present, Iran "neither pursues nuclear negotiations nor considers it necessary to have any form of dialogue with these three countries."

The three leaders said in a joint statement that they were determined to resume negotiations with Iran and the United States to reach a “comprehensive, lasting and verifiable agreement” to ensure Iran never gets nuclear weapons.

"Iran-US negotiations are limited to the nuclear field"

Araghzi also responded to the recent statement made by the US President on Iraq. He said that Trump's interpretation of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's statement and Iran's national position is his personal understanding. Iran does support some contents of the Gaza peace agreement on stopping atrocities, but the US judgment is only based on Iran's public position. "The two sides have not exchanged any information or conducted any negotiations."

Alagci stressed that the negotiations between the United States and the United States were limited to the nuclear field, and that neither the two sides negotiated with the United States or any other party at any level on issues other than the nuclear issue, in particular the issue of "resistance."

On the 9th of this month, US President Trump said that Iran had informed the United States that it supported the Gaza peace agreement proposed by the United States. The United States expressed its gratitude for this and would cooperate with Iran. (Headquarters reporter Wang Yin)
