According to Indonesian media reports on October 10th, in Konawe, southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, a man handed over his wife to his wife's lover through the traditional ceremony of Moweya Sarap, witnessed by traditional figures and family members.

According to the traditions of the Troika, the man (abbreviated as SRH) handed over a penny, a pot, a set of traditional clothes "Hai Aghu", and 5 million Indonesian shield cash (approximately RMB 2155), as an embodiment of responsibility.

"I'm leaving my wife in your hands. You have to take good care of her and marry her as your wife with both physical and mental responsibilities." SRH said, fighting back tears.

The event took place on 20 September 2025 (Saturday) in the village of Pudombie in the northern district of Tongauna. The traditional ceremony performed is called Moveya Salap, a traditional custom characterized by transfer and dismissal. This tradition is used in family conflict situations in the region, especially when both sides agree not to resort to betrayal by law.

Konawe is a predominantly agricultural region and a cultural center for the Trojan tribe. In practical operations, the Moveya Sarap ceremony involves families, traditional figures and parties to conflict.

Although the video has sparked a variety of comments in society, the Moveya-Sarap tradition is still seen as a dignified solution, avoiding violence or lengthy legal procedures.

The husband symbolically handed over his wife to another man, representing the discharge of marriage responsibility. SRH had prayed for NH and communicated the message to his wife's lover. Now, SRH and NH haveined a five-year marriage declaration ending.

SRH is a resident of Pudombi village in North Tungauna district. He worked for a mining company operating in the North Conaway region. Safrudin, the head of Pudombi village, said that SRH had divorced his wife and traditionally handed it over to another man.
