The statement said that the Palestinian people are the only authority to decide the future of the Gaza Strip and its administrative administration through comprehensive national consensus.The Palestinian side is holding an urgent and comprehensive meeting with Egypt to discuss the next steps following the ceasefire.

The statement called on relevant parties, including the United States, to continue pressuring Israel to ensure its full compliance with the terms of the agreement.

The statement also said that it would "uphold the rights of the Palestinian people and continue to carry out all forms of resistance until the occupation ends and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."

The Israeli government announced on the morning of 10 that it had approved the first phase ceasefire agreement signed with Hamas in Gaza.The Israeli Defence Forces said in a statement that the first phase ceasefire agreement has entered into force on 10 December at 12 a.m. local time (Beijing time).
