Egyptian President Sisi said on October 10 that it is crucial to fully implement the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and reach agreement on all concrete operational details.

According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Presidential Palace, Sisi said in a phone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General Guterres that day that Egypt had begun delivering emergency food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip immediately after the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement was reached.

The statement said that Guterres agreed with Sisi on the need to reach a comprehensive consensus on all the details of the ceasefire at all stages. Guterres stressed that the future path must develop towards the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international resolutions, ensuring non-separation between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and implementing the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

Egypt, Qatar and other mediators announced that Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) have reached agreement on all the terms and implementation mechanisms of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
