On October 10, the G20 Trade and Investment Ministers¡¯ Meeting was held in Gibeah, South Africa. G20 members and trade ministers or representatives of host countries, representatives of international organizations such as the WTO, the United Nations Trade and Development Conference and the OECD attended the meeting.

The meeting focused mainly on ¡°Trade and Inclusive Growth Principles and Response to Global Challenges¡±, ¡°Promoting Green Industrialization and Sustainable Development Trade Investment Framework¡±, ¡°WTO Reform and Development Dimensions¡± and ¡°G20 Trade Investment Ministers Statement¡± and ¡°President Summary¡± to prepare for the G20 Summit in November.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China firmly supports multilateralism, puts forward global governance initiatives, announces that it will not seek new special and differential treatment in current and future WTO negotiations, and demonstrates the responsibility of responsible developing countries with practical actions.G20 has made an important contribution to the development of global trade and investment, and should better play the role of the G20 trade and investment mechanism, to address current global challenges with open cooperation.

Xi Jinping said China should support the multilateral trade system and free trade, address the challenges of unilateralism and protectionism, restrain the use of trade restrictions, eliminate green trade barriers, play their respective comparative advantages and jointly support developing countries, provide momentum for green industrialization and sustainable development.

During the meeting, Li Chenggang also held meetings and talks with a number of heads of delegations and heads of international organizations such as the Director-General of WTO.
