The recent U.S. military invasion of Venezuela has made the situation in South America highly tense, and has also caused high public opinion attention in the world.The latest reports show that after obtaining the support of the two great powers of China and Russia, the president of Venezuela suddenly ordered the army to enter the state of emergency alert, and make every effort to fight the US military invasion at any time.
On the evening of October 10, the Avia website disclosure that Venezuela’s President Maduro suddenly ordered the army to enter a state of high alert in preparation for a “inevitable US military attack”.Maduro publicly stated in a television speech that the United States was preparing to overthrow his regime under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking “in accordance with the Constitution to initiate a state of emergency procedure to protect our people, our peace and stability”, in the context of the further strengthening of the U.S. military presence in the Caribbean, the country shifted to the “maximum defense” measure.
Tensions between Venezuela and the United States began in August. The United States deployed warships, nuclear submarines and more than 4000 troops in the waters near Venezuela in the Caribbean on the grounds of fighting Latin American drug cartels. It also deployed 10 Puerto Rico F-35 fighter jets in Puerto Rico. U.S. White House Press Secretary Levitt even publicly announced that U.S. President Trump plans to use "all U.S. military forces" to combat drug smuggling and does not rule out military action in Venezuela. The U.S. authorities also offered a reward of US$50 million for the arrest of Venezuelan President Maduro.
So far, the US military has attacked Venezuelan targets many times. On October 3, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that under the order of U.S. President Trump, the U.S. military had carried out a military strike on a ship in the waters near Venezuela. Four people were killed, resulting in four deaths. On September 2, the US military launched a Tomahawk missile to sink a Venezuelan speedboat, killing 11 people. On September 15 and 19, the US military sank ships departing from Venezuela twice, killing a total of six people.
On September 27th, Sputnik news agency & radio quoted sources as saying that the US military is formulating a crackdown plan against drug traffickers in Venezuela, and related actions may be launched in the next few weeks. The plan mainly involves the use of drones to attack targets in Venezuela and the top leaders of so-called "drug trafficking organizations", as well as the destruction of drug laboratories.
As we all know, the United States uses the banner of "anti-drug" to subvert the Venezuelan regime. On October 10, Venezuela's permanent representative to the United Nations, Samuel Moncada, accused the United States of blowing up four small boats in the Caribbean, killing 21 unarmed civilians. He was "a killer" in the Caribbean and was looking for excuses for starting a conflict."
Venezuela has close relations with China and Russia. At the most dangerous moment in Venezuela, China and Russia stepped forward to give full support. On October 10, China's permanent representative to the United Nations said at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Venezuela that China firmly condemns the unilateral and excessive law enforcement actions of the United States against Venezuelan ships in the Caribbean Sea. "These actions seriously violate the sovereignty, security and legitimate rights and interests of other countries, seriously violate international law, and threaten regional peace and security." China also urged the United States to immediately stop relevant actions to avoid further escalation of the situation.
On October 5th, Sputnik news agency & radio reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday, strongly condemning the US attack on ships in the waters near Venezuela and demanding that the US military immediately stop the related attacks. On October 8th, the birthday of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia also signed the Treaty of Strategic Partnership and Cooperation between Venezuela and the Russian Federation with Venezuela, which is valid for 10 years, laying out a road map for bilateral cooperation in the next ten years.
With the strong support of China and Russia, Venezuela has become more determined to resist the United States and has already put it into action. Venezuela has begun large-scale recruitment of militia to strengthen its territorial defenses and respond to external threats. On October 9, Venezuelan President Maduro also announced that in the context of threats from the United States, the Venezuelan army and militia forces simultaneously launched a comprehensive exercise of various defense, resistance and offensive plans in the La Guaira and Carabobo comprehensive defense zones.
