Guo Jiakun said that since the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict, as a friendly neighbor of Cambodia and Thailand, China has adhered to a fair and equitable position and actively promoted peace talks. The foreign ministers of China, Cambodia and Thailand have reached a "peaceful consensus", China, Cambodia and Thailand have held informal meetings, and the special envoy for Asian affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has visited Cambodia and Thailand for shuttle mediation many times. With the active promotion of China, Malaysia and other relevant parties, Cambodia and Thailand have reached a ceasefire consensus and are maintaining communication through bilateral mechanisms. All parties concerned highly appreciate the irreplaceable role played by China.

Guo Jiakun said that China supports Cambodia and Thailand in resolving disputes through dialogue and consultation, supports Malaysia in playing its role as the rotating chair of ASEAN, and promotes political settlement through the "ASEAN Way".
