On October 10th, a 7.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Philippine Islands with a focal depth of 50 kilometers. When students gathered in a school in Davao, East Davao Province, some lights suddenly went out, and the students huddled together. The ceiling of a local school fell and students fled. The exterior wall of a shopping mall was structurally damaged, with many columns cracking and rubble everywhere. There are also construction workers trapped on the top of the building, and the strong earthquake caused public panic.
According to reports, the earthquake killed at least two people in Davao East province, and the specific casualties and losses are still being counted.
