Early tsunami warning has been triggered in the Philippines, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake

On October 10, at 9:43 p.m., a 7.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Philippine archipelago area (7.55 degrees north latitude, 127.00 degrees east) with a depth of 50 kilometers.

Surrounding cities:Four large and medium-sized cities were located within the 300 km range of the earthquake, the latest being Davao, about 162 km from the earthquake.


The earthquake area:The average altitude within 5 kilometers of the epicenter is about-5388 meters.



The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued a tsunami warning saying that due to the earthquake, waves 1 meter higher than the normal tide level are expected to appear. The first wave of tsunami is expected to arrive from 9:43 to 11:43 that day, and the waves will last for several hours.


In response to a reporter's inquiry, the Consulate General of China in Davao said that the local earthquake was clearly felt.
