Michael-Owen was interviewed yesterday and talked about Manchester United and Amolin.
Owen said: "Even if there is no improvement in perception, people need to be involved in the process. There has to be a thought process: OK, the results are not very good, but there are some things in it that are worth the effort."
“On the other hand, maybe the results are improving, but based on some performance, these results are a bit unfathomable. I think Manchester United fans, directors, managers, whoever they are, people need to be impressed.”
“Alta is a proper example, if you can see early progress beyond the outcome of the game, you will insist on using someone. This is hard to compare with the United situation. I mean, to be honest, Amolin has not shown much progress.”
“I agree he deserves more time, but when I look at their progress, I can’t really sit here to defend it.”
Owen believes that there are three players that Amorim can rely on when trying to turn the situation around. They are captain Bruno Fernandes, as well as summer new signings Mbermo and Cunha, who can solve the team's goal problem.
Owen added: "Hope will be pinned on the newly introduced players who can use to score goals. In recent seasons, scoring has been a huge problem for them, so they solved it with a new front line."
“Bruno-Fernandez is such a player, among the dozens of players who have signed for Manchester United over the years, he seems to be one of the few players who haven’t dropped the level and he hasn’t backed up as a player.”
“Mbermo obviously proved himself in the Premier League, as did Cunha.I like Cunha and I think he might be very good, and now he’s very good.”
“I think Manchester United fans are most concerned about these three players, and they will feel that the team needs to create and score.”
"In terms of defense, recent signings haven't changed much. They have a lot of players in the backfield and Manchester United didn't really put too much in the backfield in the summer, so I think it's all about trying to score more goals and trying to be more threatening up front."
When it comes to Sheshko, Owen said: "I hate to judge him so early at the beginning of the season. His team may have played seven games, but he didn't start all of them. Before I judge him, I want to see more of his games. His obvious trait is his figure, and he does have a strong sense of existence."
"In the first few games, I was thinking. I wasn't sure about him. I shouldn't say that, because you can't judge a person based on playing for 10 or 15 minutes. He is more comfortable now and has scored a few goals. For Sheshko, building confidence is the key. He plays with excellent players. Let's watch him in another 10 or 15 games, and then make a conclusion."
