Turkish Foreign Minister: Turkey will participate in the Gaza Joint Action Group to follow up the implementation of the ceasefire agreement

On October 9, local time, Turkish Foreign Minister Feidan said when attending the International Conference on Gaza in Paris, France that Turkey would participate in the Gaza Joint Action Group and would follow up on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

The group will consist of the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Turkey and will be responsible for communicating with relevant parties to promote the implementation of the agreement and we will focus on following the implementation of the four objectives set forth in the first phase of the agreement.

He also revealed that the participants agreed that the “two-country plan” is the fundamental path to resolving the Gaza issue.

The meeting was hosted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and focused on issues such as ceasefire arrangements, humanitarian assistance and post-war reconstruction in Gaza. French President Macron attended the opening ceremony. Besides Turkey, Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt and the European Union also sent representatives to the meeting.

Earlier that day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey will join the Joint Operation Group for Gaza and will closely monitor the implementation of the agreement.
