Turkey will join a task force to oversee implementation of Gaza ceasefire agreement

Xinhua Agency, Ankara, October 9 (Reporter Xiong Sihao) Turkish President Erdogan said on the 9th that Turkey will join the special working group to supervise the actual implementation of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement to ensure that the terms of the agreement are fully implemented.

Speaking at the national college student opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year in the capital Ankara, Erdogan said the Turkish government was "deeply satisfied" with the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire reached in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. "Turkey will participate in the special working group that oversees the actual implementation of the agreement," he said. Turkey will work with the international community to contribute to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Turkey is one of the mediators in a new round of Gaza ceasefire talks.Accord on the first phase of the ceasefire has officially entered into force, Egyptian Cairo News TV on 9th.The Israeli government said the agreement still needs to be approved by the Cabinet.
