European and Arab foreign ministers meet in Paris to discuss conflict in Pakistan

A few hours after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza was reached, France is scheduled to convene a meeting of foreign ministers of European and Arab countries in Paris, the capital, on the afternoon of the 9th to discuss relevant arrangements to help Palestine after the current round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The meeting will include foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, as well as foreign ministers of France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The French Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the meeting will clarify the multi-faceted contents of the “collective commitments” of the parties to promote the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the follow-up arrangements.

The Israeli side has expressed dissatisfaction with the meeting before the first phase of a cease-fire agreement was announced on 9 September.Outdoor Long Gideon Sar said in a social media post that the French side “backed Israel” in the “sensitive moment” of the cease-fire negotiations to plan the meeting “was unnecessary and harmful”.

At the end of July, a high-level international conference hosted by France and Saudi Arabia on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the “Two-State Plan” was held at the United Nations, where the text of the New York Declaration was distributed for ratification by delegations. On September 12, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution in support of the New York Declaration.

In September, France, Britain, Portugal, Canada and Australia officially recognized the Palestinian state.
