On October 8, local time, Tesla launched the "Standard" versions of the Model 3 and Model Y in the United States.
Through a series of cost reduction measures, the Model 3 standard version has a discount of US $5,500, a decrease of 13%; The Model Y standard version is discounted by $5,000, a drop of 11%.

Currently, these two models are only available for the U.S. market.
According to the "Big and Beautiful" tax and expenditure bill signed by US President Trump on July 4 this year, the US government subsidizes up to US $7,500 (approximately RMB 54,700) for new cars and up to US $4,000 for used cars for new energy passenger cars. The US dollar (approximately RMB 29,200) subsidies have been terminated on September 30, local time.
With the end of subsidies, Tesla chose to boost sales in this way in response to the downward trend.
Specifically, the Tesla Model 3 standard edition reduced the EPA operating mileage from 363 miles (584 kilometers) to 321 miles (516 kilometers), and the 0–60 mile acceleration from 4.9 seconds to 5.8 seconds.

In addition, the interior materials of the Model 3 standard version have changed to fabric, and the seats have also changed from plain leather to fabric and artificial leather.
In terms of comfort configuration, the Model 3 standard version cancels the electric adjustment of the rearview mirror and steering wheel, surrounding ambient lighting, second-row seat heating, and second-row entertainment screen. The chassis hardware has also changed from continuously variable vibration damping to ordinary mechanical vibration damping.
The situation is similar for the Model Y standard version. The model's EPA operating range has been reduced from 357 miles (574 kilometers) to 321 miles (516 kilometers), and the 0-60 mile acceleration has been reduced from 5.4 seconds to 6.8 seconds.
Model Y Standard Tesla
It is worth noting that the exterior simplification of the Model Y standard version is more obvious. The model has canceled the through-type light strip and adaptive high beam, and the "TESLA" brand Logo on the front and rear of the car has also been cancelled.

Public data shows that Tesla's global deliveries hit a new record in the third quarter. The Financial Times believes that this is because American consumers rushed to buy electric vehicles before the $7,500 federal subsidy was cancelled. Tesla also warned that the company will face tougher challenges in the next few quarters.
It is noteworthy that the “big and beautiful” bill signed by Trump also ends the punitive mechanisms that have failed to meet the company’s average fuel economy (CAFE) standards set out in the U.S. Energy Act since 1975.
This is good for fuel car companies, but makes the prospects for new energy vehicles in the United States worse.
In addition, the "Financial Times" said that Tesla is facing more than just the challenges of the US market. In the European market, Tesla's market position has been affected by the controversial remarks of Tesla CEO Musk and the rise of Chinese car companies such as BYD.
According to the British Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), this year’s sales in the UK have surpassed Tesla, and sales in September grew ten times.
