Guo Jiakun: This year marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, the Beijing World Conference on Women. Thirty years ago, the Beijing World Conference on Women adopted the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, which became a milestone in the development of women's cause in the world. In 2020, President Xi Jinping attended the high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly commemorating the Beijing World Conference on Women and delivered an important speech via video, proposing to convene the Global Women's Summit again in 2025.

In order to implement the important initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping, China will jointly hold a global women¡¯s summit with the UN Women¡¯s Agency in Beijing on October 13-14. The summit is aimed at re-heating the spirit of the Beijing Women¡¯s Conference, promoting the acceleration of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and the Action Program, injecting new momentum to promote global gender equality and the comprehensive development of women, and promoting the building of a community of human destiny. On October 6, the 60th session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations unanimously adopted the resolution ¡°Promoting and protecting economic and social and cultural rights in the context of eliminating inequalities¡± submitted by China on behalf of 70 countries, including Bolivia, Egypt, Pakistan and South Africa.

Developing countries have generally stated that the resolution reflects the real needs of all peoples and strongly responds to the strong calls of developing countries to increase their investment in social and cultural rights. China will continue to adhere to genuine multilateralism, strengthen dialogue and cooperation with all parties on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and promote the healthy development of the international human rights cause.

Global Times reporter: It is that the U.S. House of Representatives ¡°China Special Commission¡± recently issued a report on the so-called ¡°how the visa policy led the Chinese defense agencies to use U.S. higher education¡± investigation, masquerading and suggesting to restrict China-U.S. normal education exchanges and cooperation.

Guo Jiakun: The institution you mentioned has always attacked and smeared China for political purposes and has no credibility at all. In response to his bad behavior, China has lodged solemn representations with the United States.

We want to emphasize that China-US education exchanges and cooperation are mutually beneficial and win-win, in line with the common interests and expectations of both sides, and contribute to enhancing the exchanges and understanding of the people of the two countries. Individual American politicians have widespread the concept of national security, interfering with the normal exchanges and cooperation in the Sino-U.S. education and humanities fields, and are not condemned to failure. We urge the U.S. side to bring President Trump's statement of welcoming Chinese students to study to the U.S. into reality and stop damaging the interests of relevant parties and Sino-U.S. relations.

Guo Qianquan: China and India will resume direct flights by the end of October this year, this is the latest embodiment of the important consensus of the meeting of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Modi on 31 August, and is also a positive initiative to facilitate friendly exchanges between more than 2.8 billion people between China and India.

This is the first visit to the DPRK by a Chinese premier since 2009. What signal does China want to send to the world through this visit?

Guo Qianquan: The Chinese side has issued news about the visit of Prime Minister Li Jiang to North Korea, which you can read. China is a traditional friendly neighboring country. Maintaining, consolidating and developing good relations with the DPRK has always been the strategic policy of the Chinese party and government. This year is the 80th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK Labour Party. China is willing to use this visit as an opportunity to work with the DPRK, to strengthen strategic communication, close exchanges and cooperation, and promote the continuous development of traditional friendship and cooperation between the two parties.

Will President Xi Jinping attend an informal meeting of the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Community in South Korea at the end of this month and early next month?

The relations between China and SADC member states have maintained a good momentum of development. Guo Jiakun: China hopes to achieve a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible, effectively alleviate the humanitarian crisis and ease regional tensions. China stands for adhering to the principle of "Palestinians ruling Palestine" and promoting the implementation of the "two-state solution".
