Russia has been warning the United States.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova said in Moscow that if the U.S. provided Ukraine with "war-ax" cruise missiles, it would exacerbate the confrontation and irreparably damage Russian-US relations.

During a routine press conference that day, Zakharova said the problem was that Ukraine could not use the missile without the direct involvement of the U.S. military and that once the U.S. government made a decision to supply the missile, “it would not only trigger an escalation of the confrontation, but would also cause irreversible damage to the Russian-U.S. relations that have begun to resume bilateral dialogue.”

The Tomahawk missiles have a range of 2500 kilometers. If Ukraine obtains these missiles, Moscow will enter its strike range.

Zakharova said that Russia is paying close attention to the development of the situation and urged all parties to exercise extreme restraint when dealing with this highly sensitive issue. "We hope Washington can hear these warnings".

On the same day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov said in a speech in the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) that the impetus for reaching an agreement formed by the meeting between the Russian and American heads of state in Anchorage, Alaska, USA has basically been exhausted.

According to TASS, Ryabkov said the strong impetus formed by the first Russian dollar meeting in Anchorage on August 15 in favour of the agreement had largely exhausted the outcome, which was mainly caused by the destructive activities of Europeans.

Speaking of the possibility that the West could provide Ukraine with “tactical axis” cruise missiles, Ryabkov said that if this step was really taken, it would mean a substantial change in the situation, but that would not affect Russia’s determination to the objectives of special military operations.

Russian President's press secretary Peskov said in Moscow on the 7th that if the parties concerned provide Ukraine with "war-ax" cruise missiles, it will trigger a serious escalation of the situation.

U.S. Vice President Wences told the media at the end of September that the White House was considering providing Ukraine with "Tax" cruise missiles through NATO European member states that can cover the Russian capital Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 2 that if the United States provided "Tax" missiles to Ukraine, the situation would be substantially escalated. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that it was whether to provide "Tax" missiles to Ukraine that "some decision" had been made.
