Argentina's House of Representatives passes bill restricting presidential decrees

On October 8, local time, the Argentine House of Representatives passed a bill restricting the use of the presidential emergency decree.

The bill had previously been approved by the Senate and eventually passed with 140 votes in favour, 80 against and 17 abstentions.

The new law stipulates that any newly issued emergency administrative order must be approved by Congress and the Senate within 90 days, otherwise automatically ceases to be effective.
