The U.S. Congressional Budget Office said:The U.S. federal budget deficit for fiscal year 2025 is $1.8 trillion, $8 billion less than the fiscal 2024 deficit.
Maya McGuinness, chairman of the "Responsible Federal Budget Committee" think tank, said in a statement that the size of U.S. debt is roughly equivalent to the size of the entire U.S. economy, and its share of the economy will soon exceed the highest level in history.
