Reduce interest rates by 50 basis points, New Zealand Central Bank announces

On October 8, local time, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (BCN) announced that it would lower its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points from 3.0% to 2.5% in response to weak economic pressures. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand said lower interest rates would help support New Zealand’s domestic economic growth and encourage household consumption and business investment.
