The US Senate will vote on the short-term appropriation bill for the sixth time on the 8th

John Thune, the U.S. Senate majority leader and Republican senator, said on October 8 that the Senate would vote again on two short-term funding bills, including the Republican version passed by the House of Representatives and the Democratic Alternative.

Thun pointed out that the failure to vote on the day was due to procedural ordering and timing issues. He revealed that some members of parliament of the two parties attended a dinner that night to discuss the progress of the government shutdown, but did not disclose further details.
