Malawi has reported a total of 128 cases of monkeypox

Xinhua news agency Lusaka on October 7 (reporter Pen Li) Lungua news: Malawi Public Health Institute on 6th informed that the country added 2 confirmed cases of monkey fever, a cumulative report confirmed cases of 128 cases.

Two new cases were in girls aged 9 and 11, two of whom had fever, cough, rash and other symptoms in recent days, and were consulted in two health institutions in the capital, Lirongui.

The number of cases has continued to rise since Malawi the first case of monkey epidemic in April 2025, with 104 cases in Liguria. So far, 10 cases of monkey epidemic have been across the country and 1 case of monkey epidemic-related deaths.

Malawi's health department is continuing to respond to the outbreak by strengthening public awareness and raising awareness of prevention and control.

Monkeypox is an infectious disease caused by monkeypox virus. It is mainly infected through close contact with monkeypox patients. Symptoms include painful rash, swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, myalgia, etc.
