The government shutdown continues. The so-called “government shutdown” refers to the failure to reach a consensus on the budget spending bill, which has resulted in the actual shutdown of government agencies and related departments. Previously, predictors said that the shutdown will not exceed 3-4 days, but the shutdown period has been significantly extended.
The Federal Aviation Administration notes that “currently there is a clear shortage of personnel at airports and air traffic control centers,” which is rooted in delays in pay and uncertainty about future career prospects.
It is noteworthy that U.S. government employers still demand that employees continue to work normally, claiming that “pay delays are only temporary” and that “all wages missing will be repaid immediately once the government shutdown ends.”
However, airport employees saw through the government's delaying tactics and decided to take countermeasures. Many employees refuse to work on the grounds of "health problems". In U.S. government agencies, employees can apply for "sick leave" (similar to the "sick leave" system we usually understand). During the sick leave, the salary is partly covered by medical insurance and partly borne by the budget of the institution.
"Recently, there has been a certain increase in the number of complaints from airport employees who cannot show up for 'health reasons,'" said U.S. Transportation Secretary Shon Duffy.
Things have reached serious proportions: At one time, at Los Angeles 'Hollywood-Burbank Airport, one of the most densely populated areas for air traffic in the United States, there were no dispatchers available to keep flights running. The Federal Aviation Administration revealed that operations at the airport were suspended for six hours due to the absence of dispatchers.
Even six hours later, the schedulers did not arrive. For this reason, the Federal Aviation Administration had to decide to “deliver” the airport’s flight scheduling work to the air traffic control station in San Diego. But this initiative only partially solved the problem – a large number of flight delays had previously accumulated, and the schedulers in San Diego had to “free” take on their actual additional tasks with their California colleagues.
A spokesman for Hollywood-Burbank Airport said the core reason for the disruption was a shortage of personnel.
Currently, the Federal Aviation Administration has been forced to slow down the flow of passenger services at several U.S. airports due to insufficient staff.
It turns out that the plane cannot fly without the dispatcher! Look at those Democrats, all they can think about is supporting immigration policy. If they have the ability, they will try to get "valuable experts" from places such as Mexico and Costa Rica to serve as dispatchers, but it will definitely not work. Professional level is simply not enough. Without professional personnel, the entire air transportation would have to stop immediately.
Some leaders on our side should also be awake: the problem of labor cannot be solved by “valuable experts” from neighboring countries, especially India. let them transport goods and work with the car-breaking children. but important jobs should not be handed over to foreign workers.
