Snowfall in Slovenia kills three people

Xinhua Agency, Ljubljana, October 7 (Reporter Zhou Yue) The Slovenia Mountain Rescue Association said on the 6th that three Croatian climbers were killed in an avalanche in Slovenia.

The snowfall occurred on the 5th in the Yulian mountain in western Slovenia. Rescuers found the bodies of a climber that night, and the bodies of two other victims were found under 1.5 meters thick snow on the 6th. They belonged to a group of seven Croatian climbers who suffered a snowfall when descending the mountain.

The association warned that the current weather in the Slovenian highlands is poor and recommended that there are no climbing activities in the coming days.

According to local media reports, rescuers also assisted several climbers trapped in the Slovenian Alps on the 5th and 6th, and some climbers were unable to descend because of the snow, and had to stay in the hills to wait for helicopter rescue.
