124 years ago, on January 16, 1901 (the 26th month of the Lunar Winter calendar), the dictator and President of Cuba, Batista I Saldiva, was born. Batista i Zaldivar, dictator and president of Cuba (1940 - 1944, 1954 - 1958). Born on January 16, 1901, and died in Spain in August 1973. In August 1933, a mass movement against the dictatorship of G. Machado I Morales broke out in Cuba. In September, he participated in a coup d'état and seized military power. Later, he controlled successive governments as chief of staff of the army. He became president in July 1940 and promulgated the Constitution. In 1944, he failed in the election and lived in the United States. After returning to China, he was elected to the Senate in 1948. In March 1952, he launched a military coup and came to power again, imposing dictatorship. He was re-elected as president in November 1954. During his term of office, he announced many times that he would stop implementing the Constitution, enact anti-labor laws, ban strikes and mass gatherings, and successively killed more than 20,000 patriots. Signed a "military mutual assistance treaty" with the United States to provide convenient conditions for American companies to plunder Cuba's wealth. At the end of 1958, an insurgent army led by F. Castro overthrew the regime of Batista I Saldivar, and on January 1, 1959, he fled to Dominica.
