On January 17, 1966 (the 26th of the twelfth lunar month), the first test flight of the self-made J-7 aircraft made by China was successful.

A single-seat single-engine light supersonic fighter developed by the J-7 Chengdu Aircraft Industry Company based on the MiG-21 of the former Soviet Union, flew for the first time in 1966. There are various modifications such as J-7I, J-7II, J-7III, and J-7MG. The captain (including the pitot tube) is 15.59 meters, the aircraft height is 4.25 meters, the wingspan is 7.15 meters, the maximum take-off weight is 9831 kilograms, the maximum flat flight speed is 2230 kilometers/hour, the practical ceiling is 18700 meters, and the maximum range is 1480 kilometers. Weapons and equipment: 1 machine-gun, 2 PL-2 air-to-air missiles (4 Type I lifts), rockets and bombs can be mounted under the wing.

The J-7 fighter jet, whose prototype is the MiG-21F-13 transferred by the Soviet Union in 1961, is divided into the second-generation jet fighter jet and the second-generation supersonic fighter jet. It is my country's current main fighter jet and has many modifications.
