Breaking-News >> WorldNews French Prime Minister resigns, stock markets jump straight!
The cabinet was formed yesterday and resigned today! Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted French media reports as saying that French Prime Minister Le Corney presented his resignation to President Macron early on October 6. It is worth mentioning that on October 5 local time, French Prime Minister Le Corneille formally formed the cabinet. The French Presidential Office announced the latest list of cabinet members. Elizabeth Bourne remains Minister of Education, Manuel Valls remains Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gerald Darmanin remains Minister of Justice, Bruno Lettau remains Minister of Internal Affairs, Lassida Dati remains Minister of Culture, Jean-Noël Barrot remains Minister of Foreign Affairs. Former Economy Minister Bruno Lemair replaces current Prime Minister Leclerc and is appointed Minister of Defence. Roland Leslour replaces Eric Lombard as Minister of Economy. Aurore Belge replaces Sophie Primas and is appointed Government spokesman. This is not the first French prime minister to submit his resignation this year. On the afternoon of September 9th, local time, former French Prime Minister Bayrou arrived at the Elysee Palace, the presidential palace, and submitted his resignation to President Macron. The French Presidential Palace issued an announcement on the evening of September 9 saying that Macron appointed Sebastien Le Corni as the new prime minister to replace former Prime Minister Bayrou, who resigned after failing to pass a vote of confidence in the National Assembly. The announcement said Macron asked Le Corney to consult with parliamentary political forces in order to adopt the next year’s budget and lay the necessary consensus foundation for future decisions. Le Corni has served as Defense Minister since May 2022 and is regarded by the French media as a loyal follower of Macron. Macron took office as president in May 2017, and a month later, Le Korney entered the cabinet. Influenced by this news, the French stock market jumped in a straight line, and as of the release, the French CAC40 index fell by 1.83%.
