The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday that the allegations of abuse of activists of the “Global Resilient Fleet” were purely “shameless lies.”
According to the Foreign Ministry, the legitimate rights of all detainees have been fully safeguarded, but Israeli National Security Minister Ben-Gewil said the activists should be treated as “supporters of terrorism” and said “anyone who supports terrorism is a terrorist and deserves to be treated as a terrorist.”
Earlier on the same day, several international activists accused the Israeli military of having been “terribly treated” during their detention, depriving the detainees of food, clean water and medicines, and even dropping them to the ground.
