According to several foreign media reports on Thursday, Swedish climate activist Greta Thumberi, known as "environmental girl", was imprisoned by Israel in a cell filled with insects and forced to take pictures of the Israeli flag.
On Sunday, Tumberi and the “Global Resilient Fleet” were detained by the Israeli navy while shipping rescue supplies to Gaza, according to the Guardian quoted sources as saying that a Swedish foreign ministry diplomat e-mailed to Tumberi’s relatives that other Israeli detainees said they saw Tumberi “forced to carry a photo of the Israeli flag”.
Regarding the above allegations, the X account of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted a post denying them. Israel claimed that the above allegations were "purely fictitious" and stated that Thunberg and others were not released because they rejected the plan to accelerate deportation.
