Mahmoud Maldawi, a senior official of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said Israel had established 117 new settlements in the West Bank as of October 7, 2023, as part of its systematic policy to seize more Palestinian land, leading to the displacement of Palestinians.
Maldives stressed that “the expansion of dangerous settlements occurred simultaneously with the escalation of unprecedented military and field attacks across the West Bank,” including raids, arrests, demolition of houses, confiscation of property and siege of cities, villages and refugee camps.
Hamas leaders reiterated that in the face of settlement construction and aggression, the Palestinian people will firmly continue to resist.
