News Agency Belgrade, October 5 The message "Iron Bar Friendship" is written on the steel lanes – Serbian President Vucic highly appreciates Hungarian Railways Xinhua Agency reporters Shi Zhongyu Chen Ying Zhang Xuan When the first train of the entire Serbian section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway opened to traffic on the vast plains of northern Serbia on the 3rd, the first batch of passengers on the train were amazed at this high-speed railway built by a Chinese company. Serbian President Vucic is one of them. He expressed his gratitude to China when communicating with foreign guests from China and Hungary, and called this railway the track leading to Serbia's future. “The railway connects the different regions of Serbia,” Wuchic said, staring at the towns and fields across the window, “and the railway connects people. Its importance is reflected not only in public transport, it is vital for the movement of people and goods, but it is also important for our economic development and attracts more investment.” The total length of the Hungarian railway section is 183.1 km, and most of the tracks in the project are run by a joint venture of China Railways International Limited and China Transportation Construction Co., Ltd., with a design speed of 200 km/h. After the entire route was completed, the train time from Belgrade to Subotica was reduced from more than 5 hours to 79 minutes. "In terms of high-quality infrastructure construction, I am very satisfied with the work that China companies have completed here." Vucic said,"I am deeply grateful to my China friends and plan to continue to cooperate with them in the future." On the train, Vucic told a Xinhua Agency reporter: "We call the relationship between China and Serbia 'iron-clad friendship'. I believe that we can further strengthen and enhance this relationship in the future." Wuchic took the example of Serbia’s Medvedev Steel Factory, which was invested in China. He said: “(The steel factory) lost as much as $12 million a month at the time. China has helped us, retaining more than 5,000 jobs, and then building infrastructure with us. I am very pleased with the level of cooperation between the two sides, and I am confident that the future will only get better.” Vucic said that Serbia is very grateful and loves the Chinese people and will never forget what China has done for Serbia. When he returned to Belgrade that evening, Vucic looked forward to Serbia's next development. "We have opened up the corridor to central Europe. Next, we must build faster and make us stronger." As the train slowly pulled into the station, warm applause broke out in the carriage-as Vucic said: "The railway connects the people, the economy and the country on the same track to the future."
