At 11:30, the "Presidential Special Train" carrying Serbian President Vucic left on time-this was the first train on the day the entire section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway was opened for operation.

At about 12:40 a.m., the train stopped at Subotica Station.Going down the train, reporters saw many Chinese employees wearing bright yellow garments and white safety hats waiting at the exit station, their expressions were filled with joy and pride.

"I came to Serbia early and witnessed the process of building this railway from scratch. This railway is like my child." Duan Wei, deputy chief engineer of the Joint Venture Project Department of the Hungary-Serbia Railway Section, told reporters.

In 2017, the Hungarian Railway Section was officially launched, and most of the project tracks were joint ventures of China Railways International Limited and China Transportation Construction Co., Ltd. In the same year, Geng Wei came to Serbia during the project research phase and was rooted alone in the project camp.

Now his hair has been pale, he told Xinhua news agency reporters that the day before the opening of the whole line of the Hungarian railway section, he was excited to find it difficult to fall asleep, and early in the morning began to connect with colleagues to the details of the car.

For colleagues, the "old section" is a "living map" of the Hungarian railway section, and he has experienced every link from research, construction, coupling, testing to driving.

At the inauguration ceremony, President Wuchic expressed his gratitude to the railway builders and said: ¡°Special thanks to our Chinese friends, without them we would not have achieved such a great achievement.¡±

Anastasia Elddi, 69, was watching the opening ceremony on the scene. She excitedly told reporters: ¡°Chinese friends have helped us. Today, this railway is open, and I feel incredibly happy.¡±

After the inauguration ceremony, the train returned on time and slowly dispersed around the crowd. On the square, Chinese enterprise employees carried a red banner with a two-language note: ¡°Celebrate the completion of the Hungarian Serbian railway section¡± to commemorate an unforgettable day in their careers.

¡°We have been looking forward to this day for a long time, struggling for five years and finally arriving in the car, and I am very pleased,¡± said Railway Engineer Tatsumi.
