Breaking-News >> WorldNews Lebanese Hezbollah leader warns: Trump's "20-point plan" is full of dangers, but whether to accept it depends on Hamas
According to the Israeli Times, Iran's Islamic Republic news agency, Lebanese Hezbollah leader Naim Kashim warned on April 4 that the "20-point plan" proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on ending the conflict in Gaza was "dangerous" and pointed out that Israel's attempts to the conflict "failed". The Israel Times stated that Kassem hinted that Israel would use the plan as an excuse to annex Palestinian land and deprive Palestinians of their right to self-determination, but he said that whether to accept the plan ultimately depends on the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). In a speech to commemorate the two Hezbollah commanders killed in the conflict in Lebanon about a year ago, he said, “This is Israel’s plan to try to this goal through political means after it failed through military operations, aggression, genocide and famine.” Qasim said he would not interfere in the detailed discussions of Trump’s “20-point plan” because ultimately Hamas and the relevant Palestinian factions are the ones to discuss and decide what the appropriate plan is. On the morning of October 3, Trump asked Hamas to agree to end his "20-point plan" on the ceasefire and post-war arrangements for Gaza by 5:18 AM, otherwise he would face "the catastrophe of hell" hours later, Hamas announced in principle that it would agree to release all Israeli detainees and remains under the "20-point plan" as part of an exchange of personnel, while stating that the agenda's issues concerning the future of Gaza and the broader rights of the Palestinian people would be addressed within the framework of the Palestinian nation's self-determination, in accordance with international law and relevant international resolutions. Trump posted on social media on October 4, saying that Israel had agreed to the "preliminary withdrawal line" in the Gaza Strip, and the United States had explained it to Hamas. Once confirmed by Hamas, "the ceasefire will take effect immediately." The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the same day saying that the Israeli and Hamas delegations will hold talks in Egypt on the 6th. The statement said that the talks will focus on Trump's "20-point plan" for ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and discuss the on-site conditions and detailed arrangements for the exchange of personnel.
