That night, 17 flights at Munich Airport were unable to take off, and another 15 arriving flights were diverted to other airports, affecting nearly 3000 passengers. The airport just resumed operations on the morning of the 3rd.

According to the German Air Traffic Control Department, the number of drone interference at German airports has increased significantly in recent years. From January to August this year, German airports 144 drone interference incidents, with 113 and 99 interference incidents in the same period last year and the previous year, respectively.
