Trump demands Israel to stop bombing Gaza immediately

After the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on October 3 announced its agreement to release Israeli detainees, U.S. President Trump demanded that Israel immediately stop bombing Gaza.

Trump wrote on social media: "According to a statement Hamas has just made, I believe they are ready for lasting peace," he said, saying that Israel "must immediately stop bombing Gaza" in order for the detainees to be released safely and quickly.

On the morning of the 3rd, Trump asked Hamas to agree to the "20-point plan" to end the Gaza conflict and rebuild Gaza before 18:00 EST on the 5th, otherwise it will face "hell." Hours later, Hamas issued a statement saying it agreed in principle to release all Israeli detainees and bodies under the exchange framework of the "20-point plan." However, the statement said that other issues related to the future of Gaza and the broader rights of the Palestinian people in the plan will be resolved within the framework of Palestinian national self-determination and in accordance with international law and relevant international resolutions.

Since the outbreak of a new round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October 2023, Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip have killed more than 66,000 Palestinians and injured more than 168,000 others, plunging the Gaza Strip into a humanitarian disaster.
