On October 3, local time, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that it allowed the Trump administration to remove the temporary protection status (TPS) of more than 300,000 Venezuelan immigrants.
This ruling overturned the previous decision of a California federal judge. The judge once found that the Trump administration's decision to terminate the temporary protection status of Venezuelan immigrants was illegal.
The Trump administration has moved to roll back several immigration protections, including the temporary protective status offered under Biden for about 600,000 Venezuelan immigrants and 500,000 Haitian migrants. Temporary protection status is usually granted on an 18-month cycle, allowing immigrants to legally stay and work in the United States. (CCTV reporter Ma Tianjing Wu Hanying)
