On the 3rd local time, Venezuelan Defense Minister Lopez announced that the Venezuelan military had recently destroyed two drug camps operated by Colombian guerrillas.

Lopez said the two major drug gangs, the Colombian National Liberation Organization and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, attempted to long-term conspire for drug trafficking in Venezuela.The operation mobilized some 3,6 thousand Venezuelan soldiers, who have successfully cleared several of their camps in Venezuela's state of Bolívar and the cross-border mountainous region of Catatumbo.¡£

Meanwhile, Lopez is strictly pointing out that the deployment of U.S. military forces in the Caribbean is only a pretext to combat drug trafficking, with the aim of pressuring and blackmailing Venezuela through force and military threats.
