South Korean government official killed, police suspect suicide

On the evening of September 26, local time, the National Information Resource Administration of the city of Dada, South Korea, caused fire during the transportation of lithium batteries, causing 647 government business systems to be disrupted, 96 were burned, and the personal work data of about 750,000 state civil servants working in the central department were all lost, the accident caused national chaos.

As of October 1, 101 of the 647 government services affected by the fire had been restored, with a recovery rate of 15.6%. The South Korean government plans to relocate the 96 systems directly burned in the accident and is expected to be relocated to the district center for reconstruction, with the entire reconstruction process taking about four weeks.

South Korean officials confirmed that the fire was caused by a lithium-ion battery that caught fire. So far, South Korean police have opened investigations against four people involved in the case. A police official revealed that the official who fell and died this time was not listed as a person related to the case or a subject of investigation.
