Erdogan Calls for Regional Peace with Trump

The Turkish Presidential Palace released a message on October 3 local time that President Erdogan, at the request of the United States, had a phone conversation with U.S. President Trump on the same day to exchange views on Turkish-U.S. bilateral relations and the situation in Gaza.

Erdogan said that his previous visit to Washington helped to further strengthen bilateral relations, and the two sides should push cooperation to a new level in the defense industry and other fields. He pointed out that Turkey is making continuous efforts for regional peace and stability, including Gaza, and welcomes relevant peace initiatives.

Erdogan emphasized that Turkey will continue to accelerate diplomatic mediation and actively contribute to the global peace vision. He called on Israel to stop military operations as soon as possible to create conditions for regional peace. (General reporter Chen Huihui)
