Xinhua Agency, Beijing, October 3. US media disclosed on the 2nd that Boeing will again delay the delivery of the Boeing 777X passenger aircraft, potentially losing billions of dollars as a result.

Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that the latest expected delivery of the first Boeing 777X passenger aircraft was delayed from 2026 to early 2027.The first customers of the Boeing 777X, German Lufthansa and Emirates, have changed the timetable for the aircraft's entry into service.

The Boeing 777X project was launched in 2013. Even if this model is delivered in 2026, it will be six years later than originally expected.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said in September that the certification of the Boeing 777X was behind schedule due to "a lot of work" still to be done. He said that there were no new technical problems in this project, and there was no hint at the time that the delivery time would be delayed.

Bloomberg quoted industry figures as estimating that Boeing could lose $1 billion to $4 billion as a result of the latest delay in delivery.

According to Agence France-Presse quoted an internal Boeing memorandum on the 2nd, the strike by employees in the Boeing military aircraft division that began in early August may continue for a long time.

About 3,200 military aircraft assembly workers in Boeing's St. Louis, Missouri and Illinois went on strike on August 4th. Boeing's internal memo reads that given the actions of union leadership at the St. Louis-area factory in the past few weeks, the strike is likely to continue for weeks or even months. Therefore, Boeing has decided to launch the second phase of its crisis response plan, including hiring more replacement workers and identifying more work that can be outsourced.

Last year, Boeing¡¯s factory on the Pacific coast of the northwestern U.S. was shut down for more than seven weeks due to a strike of more than 30,000 civil goods employees.
