The Serbian section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway opened for operation

On October 3, local time, the Hungarian Railway in Serbia from Novysad to the Suboti section (Nosu section) was opened, marking the opening of the entire line of Hungarian Railway in Serbia.

On the same day, Serbian President Vucic and other Serbian dignitaries, China Embassy in Serbia, and representatives of railway construction parties took the train to Subotica Railway Station from Belgrade Central Railway Station and attended the opening ceremony.

The Hunset Railway is an iconic project of China-Central Eastern European cooperation, as well as the interconnection of China Railway technology and equipment with the EU Railway Interconnection Technology specifications. The Hunset Railway has a total length of approximately 350 kilometers, connecting Belgrade and Hungary's capital Budapest, of which Serbia is 183 kilometers long, with a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

The Belgrade-Novi Sad section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway in Serbia was put into operation on March 19, 2022. The total length of the Nuosu section opened this time is 108.1 kilometers. After the opening of the Serbian section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway, the running time of trains from Belgrade to the border city of Subotica has been reduced from more than 5 hours to the fastest 1 hour and 19 minutes, and the passenger transport capacity, transportation efficiency and service quality have been greatly improved, which will greatly facilitate people's travel along the line and promote the development of tourism resources and urbanization along the line.
