Dutch Supreme Court Requests Government to Review Arms Export Policy

The Dutch Supreme Court ruled on October 3 that the government must reconsider its arms export policy to Israel.

The Dutch Supreme Court did not uphold last year's comprehensive local court ban on the export of F-35 fighter jet parts, but asked the government to assess itself whether the parts risked being used in violation of international law. The Dutch Supreme Court gave the government six weeks to review. During this period, the export of F-35 fighter parts will continue to be banned.

Earlier, on July 29, the Dutch government announced a travel ban on two Israeli far-right ministers, while Dutch Foreign Minister Feldkamp announced increased restrictions on Dutch arms exports to Israel.
