Israeli police said 470 activists detained by the Israeli navy in an attempt to break through the Israeli maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip had been handled by law enforcement and more than 600 police, prison officials and immigration representatives had been deployed to the port of Ashdod to receive the detainees.

Police said activists from the 41 ships had undergone a ¡° thorough inspection¡± and had been handed over to the Population and Immigration Administration and the Israeli Prison Administration for further handling before being deported.

In addition, one vessel of the flotilla is still en route to Gaza and is expected to be intercepted by the navy if it continues to approach. (Headquarters reporter Li Xiang Zhou Xuan)
