On the evening of October 2, local time, British counter-terrorism police announced the identity of the suspect in the Manchester attacks. The suspect was named Jihad al Shamie, a 35-year-old man, a Syrian British who had been killed by police on the scene.
Police said three others were currently detained on suspicion of planning, carrying out and inciting terrorist acts, two men aged 30 and one woman aged 60.
The police said that two men who were attacked were pronounced dead at the scene, and three others were still being treated in hospital due to serious injuries.
Earlier on the 2nd, a car crash and knife injuries occurred outside a Jewish church in Manchester. The police confirmed that the suspect had been shot. The British police issued a statement on the 2nd that the attack on a Jewish church in Manchester on the same day had been classified as a terrorist attack.
