On October 2, local time, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech at the 22nd annual meeting of Valdai International Debate Club, a Russian think tank.
Putin said that the restoration of a comprehensive relationship with the United States is in the interests of the Russian nation. The current U.S. government clearly demonstrated its interests, sometimes even seeming straightforward, but at least abandoned the hypocrisy – they always put their own interests first, which is a rational choice. Russia also reserves the right to act according to its own national interests.
