The official WeChat Public No. 2 of the Indian Embassy in China announced that China-India Direct flights will be resumed by the end of October 2025, and the specific implementation will depend on the commercial decisions of the two countries designated airlines.
The Indian Embassy in China said that earlier this year, as part of the measures to promote the gradual normalization of Sino-Indian relations, the civil aviation authorities of the two countries launched technical consultations on resuming direct flights between India and China and revising the Air Services Agreement.
"After the above-mentioned consultations, the two sides have reached a consensus that direct flights between the two countries to designated navigation points can be resumed before the end of October 2025 according to the flight plan for the 2025 winter season. Specific implementation must be subject to the commercial decisions of the designated airlines of the two countries and must meet all operating standards."
Previously, foreign media reported in August that China and India would resume direct flights as early as September. The Indian government has asked airlines to prepare to open flights to China in a short period of time.
At the time, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Swam responded to related issues, the total population of the two countries exceeds 2.8 billion, and the restoration of China's mainland with India's direct flights is conducive to facilitating the exchanges and exchanges between the two sides. for a period of time, China and India haveined close communication on this, and continue to promote the early resumption of direct flights.
At the beginning of 2020, direct flights between China and India stopped. Since then, passengers have only had to transit through hubs such as China Hong Kong, Bangkok or Singapore.
